I've just published a brand new tutorial for creating a prong style pendant setting for large stones.

The tutorial is 32 pages and a total of 63 instructional photos and 9 inspirational photos.  The price is $9 USD

Here's the link for more information and purchase http://www.creationsbycarolladine.com/facetedpendantsetting.php

Thank you ladies!  The stone is an Ametrine, a combination of Amethyst and Citrine.  This stone came from Bolivia and I aquired it last year.

Got the tut! Had to give it a peek before I could settle down to my evening's dictations, and printed it out at work. It looks really well done, good pics and clear writing! Darnit, I left the printed tut at work but oh well, I work tomorrow anyhow. It looks easier than I thought (I can say that NOW before I get started!). So, thanks a bunch and I'll let you know how it turns out.

Question: your stone was 7mm deep, mine is 11. You used 7 wires, I assume I need 11?

I would go with 10.  21ga wire isn't quite a mm thick so mm depth of the culet won't equal number of wires needed.  That's why I use a calaper to measure the depth of the stone then transfer that to paper by laying the calaper down and drawing lines between the jaws.  Then when I cut my wires I can hold them together and lay them between the lines to see if I have enough or too many.

Great! I'm itchin' to get started! Hope to get on it tomorrow. I have 20 ga dead soft I think I'll try. The stone is 25X18X11. If it is worthy, I'll post a pic. I think it will go well. This client likes a very plain topper, so I may well just clip and bend all the wires.

Carol, and others, I have another question. I am teaching a basic bezel wrap class soon. I have a list of around 40 that requested a class...(I am humbled and flattered). I am limiting class size to 4 to keep it simple. I have set up a materials list, and it looks like I'll be supplying silver and a cab for all.  I'll go over tools, materials, resources (including the Guild), and plan on 2 hours.

Are there any suggestions from the seasoned educators among you? Anything I should't fail to plan for??

Sorry, I've never taught a class in my life.  I have been asked and have thought about it but not brave enough to give it a try, yet.

Haha, well, we'll see if I survive it. I've demonstrated at a couple shows, and had a couple one-on-ones with folks so I don't think it's that different, except perhaps a bit more structured, and will have to take into account 4 people trying to keep up. That's why I limited it to 4.

That is really a awesome pendant. But tutorial is something which is needed by many people who really want to make of their own. I surf a site little and found a Classic Grecian Lady Cameo Bracelet which was really nice one. The earrings are also nice.

Hi there!

Can you guys show me your 'own' version of Faceted Stone Pendant..
I'm curious about the outcome and the type of gemstone that you used on this type of setting.

'Till then...
