Just wanted to give an update and request more prayers. My sister sent me this: Matt is having some serious surgery Aug. 5th. we have to be in Greenville Aug 3rd for test & such. It look like he will lose his left kidney unless God intervens. Doctor said it would be around a 6 hour or more surgery. He will have a team of 5 surgeons doing this operation. Everyone keep him in your prayers especially August 5th.
Thanks everyone!

Just wanted to update everyone. Matt had his surgery today. They removed a mass as large as a kidney. They had to remove one of the kidneys but didn't have to take anything else so that is good. He is in ICU tonight and they think he can be moved to a room tomorrow. The team of surgeons feel that they got it all and the only thing they are concerned with now is hopefully some arteries will take over with the blood supply to the colon as they had to do something with the aorta. If the arteries don't take over, he will have to undergo additional surgery. So, please, I am asking again to say prayers for Matthew that his recovery will be quick and great!
Thanks everyone!!

Just wanted to update Matthew's condition. His remaining kidney is only working at 17 percent. The doctor's think that the surgery was just too much and the kidney is 'in shock'. They will have to do dialysis tomorrow. But they are hoping that after a few more days, his body will adjust and the kidney will start functioning normally. Thanks for all the prayers and keep them coming!

More prayers are coming., After a few days the recovery will accelerate. The kidney is just warming up, and will take its duty as soon as possible. He's still in the postoperative stage, and number is good.

Great news. Matthew finally got real food yesterday and was able to keep it down. They are going to try not to do dialysis this week to see if the kidney will kick in and start working more. Let's all keep our fingers crossed that the kidney will work! Thanks everyone. |

I'm so glad to hear this... What can I say.. As I go back to your initial post about Matt, I realized that the battle started early this year, and now before Christmas, he is healed. Donna, your latest update really put a huge soft smile on my face..We've been all waiting for this moment. Praise God.
